Acetel, a global provider of IoT and automotive solutions, today announced its new automotive grade 5G modules, the N8 series. These cutting-edge modules offer a range of advanced features, including multi-gigabit cellular connectivity, cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) PC5 direct communication, enhanced location services, a high-performance multicore application processor, and robust security, making them ideal for next-generation automotive applications.
Powered by the AEC-Q100-qualified Snapdragon® Auto Connectivity Platform from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., the N8 series utilizes the Snapdragon® Auto 5G Modem-RF Gen 2 platform with Qualcomm SA522M and SA525M components. These automotive grade 5G modules adhere to the IATF 16949:2016 automotive quality management system, ensuring they meet the stringent demands of automotive devices. Designed for durability, the N8 series delivers reliable performance even in high-temperature environments.
Compliant with the 3GPP Release 16 specification and supporting both 5G NR standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes, the N8 modules are backward-compatible with LTE, WCDMA, and GSM networks, ensuring connectivity in regions where 5G NR is not yet available. With Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) technology, these modules can also improve connectivity in areas with poor signal coverage.
The N8 series supports optional C-V2X PC5 direct communication, enabling superior vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication for enhanced traffic efficiency and safety. The powerful application processor, with up to 20KDMIPS computing power, supports the C-V2X stack and applications. Additionally, the module integrates an ECDSA engine to ensure secure C-V2X verification capabilities.
This makes Acetel’s N8 series a leading solution in automotive grade 5G module technology, delivering the performance and reliability needed for the future of automotive innovation.
